New Year in Kazakhstan is celebrated on the 1st January. But the preparations start in early December.
The holiday is celebrated in schools and kinder gardens. The main guests of the event are Father Frost and his granddaughter Snegurochka.
People at home dress New Year trees. Children do toys and small presents with own hands for their parents and relatives. Also they write wish letters addressed to Father Frost.
New Year’s Eve is celebrated with family and friends. People dress the table and lay the presents under the tree.
But according to Muslim traditions New Year is celebrated in spring and corresponds to Nowruz.
